Privacy Policy

Wake County Local respects your privacy. This page explains what information we collect and how we use it. We do not sell your personal information.

What we collect

We only collect what you choose to send us. If you use the Get Featured form or the Contact form, we receive what you type into it: your name, email address and message, plus your business details and phone number if you give them. We use it to reply to you and, for Get Featured, to look at your business. We do not use it for anything else, and we do not share it with other businesses.

Who handles your form

Our forms are processed by Web3Forms, a form service that passes each message to us by email and keeps a copy for a limited time. Its handling of your information is covered by its own privacy policy.

Search

The search on this site runs in your browser. What you type into it is not sent to us or to anyone else.

Maps and other websites

Some business pages show a Google map. When the map loads, Google may collect information about your visit and set cookies, as it does on any site that embeds its maps. We also link to businesses’ own websites and social media pages. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.

Cookies and tracking

We use Clicky, a website analytics service, to see how many people visit and which pages they look at, so we can improve the site. Clicky records things like the pages you view, the site you came from, your browser and device, and your approximate location, and it may set a cookie in your browser to recognize repeat visits. Its handling of that information is covered by its own privacy policy. We do not use advertising or other tracking tools, and we do not set cookies of our own.

Like most websites, the host of this site, Netlify, keeps ordinary server logs, which can include your IP address and the pages you request.
