About Wake County Local
Wake County Local is a free directory of independent businesses in Wake County, North Carolina. It is here to help our neighbors find local businesses worth knowing: the kind run by owners who take pride in their work and stand behind it.
Listings are free, and the directory is invitation-only. No one pays to be listed or to rank higher, so every business you see was chosen, not bought.
For business owners
If you run an independent business in Wake County and take pride in doing it right, I would love to hear about it. Tell me about your business and I will take a look. If it is a good fit, I will write a feature about it and we will promote it on Facebook, all for free.

“Every business has a unique story worth telling.”
I have spent over twenty years in design, evolving from designing surf magazines to creating web marketing and UX for local businesses. When I am not helping clients get more clients, you will likely find me surfing the coast, fishing at nearby lakes, or hiking trails off the beaten path.
