A story worth sharing

A professionally written feature about you and your business, on a page of its own on Wake County Local.

Local promotion on us

We share your feature on Facebook and pay to put it in front of people around your service area.

Something you can keep using

Use your page on your website, social media, emails and proposals, anywhere people are deciding whether to hire you.

Tell me about your business

Share a few details and I will take a look. Getting featured is always free.

By sending this you are sharing your details with Wake County Local so we can look at your business. See our privacy policy.

How it works

From first message to finished feature

  1. Tell me about your business

Share a few details about what you do and what makes you different.

  2. Meet with me

We talk for about 30 minutes, on video, about your story and why you started your business.

  3. I write your feature

You get a feature that tells people why you are the one to call, and you confirm the details before it goes live.

  4. We promote it

We publish it on your page, then pay to put it in front of people near you on Facebook.

So what is the catch?

There is no catch on the feature itself. It is free, and no one pays to rank higher. I run Bluewebshop, a web agency for local service businesses, and these features are one way I support local businesses. Most of the time I write your feature, we promote it, and that is it. If I see a clear way to help you get more calls, I will mention it. If you would like help, great. If not, that is fine. Your feature runs either way.

Frequently asked questions

Is the feature really free?
Yes. The interview, the writing, your page on Wake County Local, and the paid Facebook promotion cost you nothing. There are no fees and no subscriptions, and no one pays to rank higher.
Which businesses can be featured?
Independent businesses with real roots in Wake County. We are looking for trusted, community-minded businesses, not the ones with the biggest ad budgets. Each feature is promoted to people in that business's own service area.
Will every business that sends details be featured?
No. Wake County Local is invitation-only, and we check each business before it goes live. Telling me about yours is the first step, not a guarantee.
What happens after I send my details?
We take a look at your business. If it looks like a good fit, I will email you to set up a video call of about 30 minutes, where we talk about your story and why you started. After that I write your feature, and you confirm the details with me before anything goes live.
How is my feature promoted?
Your feature is published on your own page on Wake County Local. Then we share it on Facebook and pay to put it in front of people in your service area, so the people you want to reach actually see it.
How many businesses do you feature?
We feature new businesses every month, but only as many as I can interview and write about myself, so the number is limited.
Will you try to sell me anything?
No pressure. Bluewebshop builds websites and online marketing for local service businesses, so if I see a clear way to help you get more calls, I may point it out. Plenty of owners just want the feature, and that is completely fine. Being featured never depends on hiring us.
What does the Verified badge mean?
It means the business has confirmed its listing details.
