Founded by Susanne, who brings a unique blend of European design sensibility and American design education, the studio specializes in creating timeless, elevated interiors that reflect personal style while supporting everyday living.
Susanne’s background combines a BA in Art History from Portland State University and a BA in Interior Design from Marylhurst University with over 10 years of high-end residential and commercial design experience in Portland, Oregon. Her European upbringing, surrounded by historic architecture and interiors with natural textures and vintage charm, deeply influences her design aesthetic focused on creating spaces that feel collected, warm, and balanced.
House of Maevie offers comprehensive design services including renovation and remodel projects, new home construction design, and furniture and décor selection. Their collaborative process begins with either a Virtual Design Consultation or an in-home Design Consultation, followed by expertly crafted mood boards, renderings, and finish selections that help clients visualize decisions without feeling overwhelmed.
What distinguishes House of Maevie is their transparent, upfront pricing approach that ensures clarity from the start. Every proposal is tailored based on a calculated scope of work and estimated hours, with clear communication if needs change or additional time is required. This flexible structure gives clients confidence in their investment while allowing room for customization. House of Maevie is also known for creating functional, family-friendly layouts that blend classic design principles with modern living needs. They work closely with contractors and vendors during the construction phase, providing detailed drawing sets and ongoing project support to ensure smooth delivery within budget.
The studio’s philosophy centers on creating homes as sanctuaries—spaces that reflect personality and support lifestyle for years to come, incorporating natural materials, soft lighting, vintage accents, and colorful textiles to achieve harmony and lived-in comfort.
