Positively Apex

Positively Apex represents a growing community initiative designed to foster meaningful connections throughout Apex, NC. What began as a neighborhood magazine has evolved into a multi-faceted platform dedicated to highlighting local stories, supporting businesses, and creating authentic community engagement.
Founded by Leslie Lockhart, a UNC-Chapel Hill graduate with extensive experience in marketing and public relations, Positively Apex operates with a distinct mission: to strengthen community bonds through genuine relationships while celebrating diversity and connecting neighbors. The organization deliberately focuses on positive news and uplifting stories to create a refreshing alternative to today’s often negative media landscape.
Currently, Positively Apex produces a monthly magazine that reaches thousands of homes in the West Apex, Friendship, and New Hill areas. The organization is expanding its reach through active social media engagement, website development, and blog content. Future plans include establishing a non-profit arm to support residents and businesses in urgent need, opening a brick-and-mortar location to serve as a visitor center and event space, and potentially launching a community podcast.
Leslie, who serves on the Apex Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and chairs the Ambassador committee, has earned recognition as a “community cheerleader” through her dedication to connecting and promoting local businesses. Her vision for Positively Apex continues to grow, focusing on creating a space where Apex residents can come together, support one another, and celebrate their vibrant community.
